About Pallas-Amenah
SO, LIKE, WHAT DO YOU DO? 🎥
I am a screenwriter, writer, and traveler! After graduating from college a semester early in 2019, I started interning at the Showtime Channel in DC and took up freelance content writing before landing a job in Barcelona, Spain as an Assistant and Digital Journalist. There, I reviewed edits, researched shooting locations for production scripts, helped out as assistant camera, and did some transcript translation. But after half a year of working in the management side of film, I realized I was moving away from my true desire to be a Creative - I wanted to write. So, I went back to school! I applied to grad schools domestically and internationally - USC, the London School of Film, the University of Kent, the American University of Paris, and UCLA. I was accepted to all of them! After considering each school's financial packages for me, I decided to attend the University of Kent on their Paris campus to continue my studies towards a Film MA. I'm currently living in Los Angeles working in film and television development! My dream position is to be a staff writer on a YA television show (cheesy, I know, but it's the hijinks for me).
WHY'D YOU FOUND BE CREATIV.? 🎭
I founded Be Creativ. in 2021 in an effort to encourage the sharing of stories by equipping young artists with financial assistance and experience opportunities. I recognize that the Entertainment Industry can be tough to break into, especially for marginalized communities and those of us coming from lower income households.
My hope is that the Be Creativ. community will help young folks have an easier time of pursuing their goals, by providing accessible resources and tips that I wish I'd had early on!

WHY DO YOU TRAVEL? 🗺️
ME: Why not?
YOU: Um, because it's EXPENSIVE?!
What if I told you it doesn't have to be? When I was little, my family never really went on vacations. We went to Disney World once, when I was six months old. And when I was in the third grade, we visited Mexico. It was lit. Any travelling after that consisted of driving from DC to Boston to visit my aunt. So when I studied abroad in 2018 in Paris, solo, that was my first international travel experience. How'd I do it? I applied for an opportunity grant through CEA Study Abroad, and combined with my affiliate college financial aid, the program was completely free, save for housing. And with a $1000 plane ticket credit, ya girl flew first class.
I use my travels to fuel my storytelling, and experiencing the world certainly gives me something to write about! While in Europe, I visited 11 different countries, from London to Portugal to Greece. I loved learning to adapt to and learn from each new environment - it was exhilarating, and it inspired me to continue seeing as much of the world as possible. That included figuring out ways to work abroad, while still pursuing my passion for screenwriting and entertainment. One of those opportunities was freelance blogging and getting paid by outside companies to create content! On my blog, I share my experiences and tips on Gen Z travel, Black travel, solo travel, and screenwriting! You can read about my adventures here or come along for the ride on my instagram.
